Great Turnout!

The Good Neighbor Breakfast for 2013 was a great success!  The annual event drew a crowd of more than 250 friends, neighbors and CCC supporters to the First Baptist Church Dining Hall on Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013.

The gathering opened with a welcome and invocation from CCC Board Chairman, Col. Jack Wylie (USAF, Ret.), followed by remarks from Executive Director Lori Thornton.  Breakfast was preparedby the "Istry in the Making" Catering Service.

Community Coordinator Janet Mendenhall shared some thoughts about her work with neighbors, and songwriter Caroline Cobb shared an original song she had composed for CCC entitled, "Our Neighbor."

Another of the morning's highlights was the new CCC video produced by Pink Goose Media of Abilene.  The meeting closed with remarks by Linda Carleton, CCC Founder and former Dean of Students at Hardin-Simmons University.  She challenged those present to continue - or begin - meeting their neighbors, and to partner financially with CCC to continue its work of community renewal.
