Volunteers
The work of community renewal depends on the intentional caring acts of citizens in our community. Individuals often minimize the impact they can make, but when hundreds of people come together with one goal of genuine community renewal, lives and neighborhoods can all be changed in a positive way.
If you have a heart to serve, we are committed to helping you match your area of interest with needs in the community. And know that you will be rewarded as you reach out to others - the transformation occurs within those served and those serving.
There are many ways to help. A large number of our volunteers like to work with our Friendship Houses in target neighborhoods. There are opportunities for tutoring or mentoring. Volunteering to build relationships on your own block by becoming a Haven House leader is vital to the renewal of our city. Special events are always fun and exciting ways to volunteer. Others use their talents and skills - from gardening to art to mechanics to nutrition - to teach others and to make our community a better place.
Every person has something to give and share to make our community an even better place. And CCC is committed to helping you find a place to use your gifts and talents to do so! As we work to build safe and caring communities there is no shortage of things to do. We need you! You can complete a volunteer information form online right now, or complete the volunteer opportunities checklist online right now. Feel free to contact Jordan Wesley, our director of community engagement, at jordan@wecareabilene.org if you have any questions.
